Once you have determined the type of materials that you will need, you should take a look at the quantity of packaging materials that you will need.  Make sure that you have enough so that you are not limiting the amount that can be used in a package.  Look at the number of packages that you deliver in a particular time span. 

When you determine the amount of packaging materials you use in a month or quarter, try to order according to what you will need for a the next similar time period.  The price of packaging materials is generally lower when you order a larger quantity.  If you are able to stock up for a year, you will be able to save yourself money in the long run by purchasing in bulk.  However, if you find that your budget will not allow this type of buying, there are some other things that you can do to lower the cost.

Comparison shop at all of the online packaging suppliers and you should be able to find the lowest option available to you.  There are many resources online for these cheaper packaging supply companies and doing your research will help you to find the bests deals.  Become familiar with the different dimensions of boxes that you will need and make certain that you choose high quality materials to keep your products safe and secure in the mail.
